The woven polypropylene structure has exceptional burst and tensile strength as well as resilience. For years now, with ProvisionGard® PGT 81086 food grade polymer pellets, we have provided built-in insect resistance. ProvisionGard® Technology has developed a proprietary process that integrates the insect-resistant active into the weave or extrusion lamination during manufacturing, ensuring no loss of strength or durability. With a low percentage addition of our PGT 81086 pellets, insect resistance is achieved with no additional equipment needed.

FIBC Bulk Bags: Big Solutions for Big Needs

FIBC bags (you might know them as “Big Bags” or “Super Sacks”) are the heavy lifters of the packaging world. FIBC bulk bags are essential for transporting and storing large quantities of materials like spices, grains, and animal feed. The fabric is made by weaving Polypropylene fibers into large yarns of fabric and constructing a large industrial-size bag.

A simple low percentage addition of our PGT 81086 food grade pellets into the based weave formulation or an extrusion laminated layer will add an additional layer of insect resistance, ensuring long-term, pest-free storage without compromising quality.

Paper Multiwall Bags: Tough, Reliable, and Insect-Resistant

Paper Multiwall bags are the backbone of bulk packaging. Designed for strength and versatility, they’re widely used for flour, food ingredients, pet food, and agricultural products. But what makes them even better? Built-in insect resistance.

ProvisionGard® PGT 24000, a specialized water based food grade coating can be applied to the inner or outer layers of these bags, based on manufacturing requirements. Only one layer of the paper bag needs to be coated to achieve instant insect resistance. This process operates at speeds of 500 to 900 feet per minute, with dryer blowers assisting in drying. While heated drying is optional, the coating dries effectively on its own, preventing any blocking on the roll. The coating can be applied offline and then combined at the tuber in any position within the bag or it can simply be flood coated in the last station on your printer.

ProvisionGard®-treated kraft paper bonds seamlessly, eliminating the need for uncoated seams. For outer printed plies, the coating can be applied directly over the print at the final station of the printing press.

The result is a fast-drying, non-disruptive coating that controls the growth of stored product insects, like red flour beetles and Indian meal moths, while protecting your valuable commodities and your reputation.
